FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Canton, MI) – Whittney Williams, Republican candidate for Michigan’s 11thCongressional District, has officially signed the Federal Taxpayer Protection Pledge. The pledge states:
I, Whittney Williams, pledge to the taxpayers of the state of Michigan, and to the American people that I will: (1) oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and (2) oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.
Upon signing the pledge, Whittney Williams issued the following remarks:
“When the government takes hard-earned dollars out of taxpayer’s pockets, they have a duty to use that money efficiently and effectively. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Too often, career politicians look at the American people and see their own personal piggy bank. Rather than tightening their own belts or looking for waste, there is an uncontrollable urge to continuously go back to the taxpayer for more and more money. I’ve decided to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to help end this cycle. That means I will vote to oppose all net tax increases. As a congresswoman, I will fight to make sure taxpayers get to keep and spend the money they have worked so hard to earn.”
